BETONG: The Batang Saribas 1 bridge will be officially launched tomorrow (July 19) by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, marking a major milestone for the people of the constituency.
Ahead of the launch, local residents have expressed their appreciation to the Sarawak Government for delivering a long-awaited development that now allows them to cross the Saribas River in just minutes – a journey that previously took up to 30 minutes by ferry.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, who is also Bukit Saban Assemblyman, visited the site to inspect final preparations and oversee the event rehearsal today.
With the new bridge, travel between Pusa and Beladin has become significantly more efficient, paving the way for greater economic opportunities and improved access to services in the region.
The 1.55-kilometre structure, which was completed and opened to the public on May 25 this year, is fully funded by the Sarawak Government.
The bridge is expected to catalyse major transformation across the Saribas area, particularly in terms of local development and economic growth.
