KUCHING: Sarawak rising shuttler Genevie Lim receives a RM1,000 incentive from the Sarawak Badminton Association (SBA) after winning the Mixed Doubles title at the PETRONAS National Under-18 Championships 2026 in Alor Setar.
The incentive was presented by SBA honorary secretary Datuk Dr Wan Khalik Wan Muhammad in recognition of her latest national-level achievement.
“Congratulations once again, Genevie, and all the very best for the World Junior Championships,” SBA said in a social media post.
Genevie, who teamed up with Shazmir Irfan at the championships, will next represent Malaysia at the World Junior Championships in Egypt this October, adding another major assignment to an already promising season.
Her rise has also been marked by success on the international stage, with Genevie helping Sarawak badminton celebrate another milestone at the Badminton Asia Junior Championships 2026 earlier this year.
Partnering Low Zi Yu in the Women’s Doubles, the newly formed pair secured a bronze medal at the continental championships.
The podium finish further underlined Genevie’s emergence as one of Sarawak’s promising young badminton talents, with her latest national title providing another boost ahead of her World Junior Championships campaign.
