KUCHING: The Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBC) will host its next Sarawak Biodiversity Insights talk on Jan 9, 2026, focusing on analytical technologies used to determine and ensure food provenance, authenticity and quality.
The session, titled Analytical Technologies for Determining and Ensuring Food Provenance, Authenticity and Quality, will be delivered by Dr Ujang Tinggi at 2.30 pm and will be conducted both physically at SBC and online via Zoom.
Ujang, an associate professor at Griffith University and Acting Chief Chemist at the Department of Queensland Health, will share insights into the science behind food authenticity and quality in an increasingly globalised food system.
The talk will highlight how advanced analytical tools are used to detect food fraud, trace the origins of food products and ensure that food consumed by the public is genuine and safe.
