KUCHING: The Sarawak Cycling Association (SCA) has expressed immense pride in Muhammad Luqman Daniel Roji following his outstanding performance at the 2025 Asian Track Cycling Championships, where he secured gold, silver, and bronze.

His remarkable achievement is seen as a testament to Sarawak’s rising prominence in the sport and the dedication of its athletes.

Association president Irawan Sudarsono lauded Luqman Daniel’s success, emphasising that it reflected the hard work, perseverance and commitment of not only the athlete but also his coaches, family and the cycling community.

“This victory was not just a personal milestone but a testament to the growing strength of Sarawak’s cycling talents.

“We hope Luqman Daniel’s success inspires more young cyclists to pursue the sport and strive for excellence on the international stage,” Irawan told Sarawak Tribune.

The association also acknowledged the efforts of two other Sarawakians who represented Malaysia at the championship — Afif Darwysh Mohamad Nazir and Muhammad Daniel Hakim Zulkaisi.

Though they did not secure podium finishes, their participation at this level is considered an essential step in their development.

“Having three Sarawakians at the Asian Championships is a huge achievement. Afif Darwysh and Daniel Hakim’s debut will only help them grow in the sport and we are incredibly proud of their efforts,” Irawan added.

Looking ahead, the Sarawak Cycling Association reaffirmed their commitment towards grassroots development and ensuring young athletes receive the necessary support to compete at the highest levels.
