KUCHING: Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) is continuing its push to grow high-impact local enterprises with the launch of SCALE Sarawak Cohort 3, aimed at accelerating promising startups into scalable businesses.

The six-month programme, delivered in collaboration with Endeavor Malaysia, will support seven selected companies through structured mentorship, workshops and strategic networking.

TEGAS chairman Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the initiative reflects the state’s broader agenda to strengthen its entrepreneurial ecosystem and drive long-term economic transformation.

“The 2026 rollout of SCALE Sarawak represents our continued commitment to Sarawak’s economic transformation by empowering local founders with top-tier mentorship and meaningful connections,” he said in a press release.

He added that the programme aligns with Sarawak’s Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy and the Sarawak Digital Economy Blueprint 2030, with a focus on nurturing resilient and scalable companies.

Endeavor Malaysia managing director Shan Li Tay said the collaboration aims to connect Sarawakian founders with global expertise and networks.

“Our partnership with TEGAS is about more than just business growth; it’s about surrounding Sarawak’s most ambitious founders with the right tribe.

“This provides a strategic launchpad to propel local innovations onto a global stage,” she said.

Building on earlier cohorts, the 2026 edition introduces enhancements to deepen engagement, including live business portfolio tracking, one-on-one virtual mentoring follow-ups and expanded access to Endeavor’s regional ecosystem.

Participants will also benefit from a stronger physical presence, with workshops and mentoring sessions conducted in both Kuching and Kuala Lumpur to encourage collaboration and peer learning.

The programme targets Sarawak-based startups with at least one local co-founder, a minimum annual revenue of RM500,000, and a clear growth trajectory driven by technology or innovation.

The cohort is expected to begin in early May at TEGAS Digital Village, with the programme culminating in a final review and graduation in October.

Applications are currently open for eligible startups seeking to scale their operations and tap into a wider network of mentors and industry leaders.

SCALE Sarawak Cohort 3 to run from May to October, offering selected entrepreneurs mentorship, workshops and networking opportunities to grow their businesses.
