KUCHING: Members of the public are invited to attend a commercial crime awareness talk titled ‘Smart retirees avoid being targeted by scammers’ this Friday (Oct 27).
The two-hour event, organised by Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, is scheduled to take place at the State Library’s auditorium in Petra Jaya from 9 am to 11 am.
According to a poster of the event, the featured speaker for this awareness talk is ASP Pricha Azin, a senior investigating officer specialising in Counterfeit, Syndicated Investment, and Cyber Crime in the Sarawak Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID).
The primary goal of the event is to educate the public and raise awareness about the risks associated with commercial crimes.
With the proliferation of scams and fraudulent activities, it is crucial for individuals, particularly retirees, to be well-informed and vigilant.
Admission to the event is free; however, due to space constraints, attendance is limited to the first 100 individuals.
Those interested can scan the QR code in the poster to register and an e-certificate will be presented at the end of the event.
