SIBU: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) St Elizabeth is set to receive upgraded sports facilities with an allocation of RM100,000 from the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) grant for the Pelawan constituency.

According to the Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing, and Local Government, Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee, the initiative is part of efforts to enhance community education facilities, focusing on students’ physical and mental wellbeing.

“The project aims to improve the basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, providing better amenities for students.

“The upgrades include repainting the basketball and tennis courts and replacing the wire chain-link fencing,” said the Pelawan assemblyman when contacted today(Nov 21).

The project commenced on November 14, 2024, with completion expected by March 2025.

The project document handover to the contractor was witnessed by Tiang’s representative, Penghulu Ting Tien Huat.
