SIBU: Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Hang Kwong will have its basketball court upgraded at a total cost of RM50,000.

According to Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng Jin Ek, the implementing agency for the project is the Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC).

“The project will upgrade the school’s basketball court, including the court surface, basketball hoops, and line markings.

“This is to create a standard basketball court and provide the school with a higher-quality sports facility,” he said in his Facebook post on Sunday (Jan 26).

He hopes that the project, funded under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) grant for the Bukit Assek constituency, will benefit the community, especially the school’s students and teachers.

“We kindly seek your understanding for any inconvenience caused during the construction period,” he added.
