BINTULU: As part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) Bursary Programme held a special meet-and-greet session with bursary recipients at SM Kai Dee on Wednesday, reaffirming its commitment to advancing education and youth development.
The event brought together 23 students who have been awarded financial assistance through the programme, which aims to support those from low-income families.
“The initiative ensures that financial constraints do not hinder deserving students from continuing their education, while also promoting equal access and fair opportunities in learning,”said SCORE in a press statement on Wednesday.
The establishment of the SM Kai Dee bursary underscores SCORE’s long-term investment in education and human capital development.
“By assisting students who demonstrate strong academic potential and determination, SCORE hopes to nurture disciplined, motivated individuals who can make meaningful contributions to their communities and future workplaces,” it said.
In addition to financial support, the programme highlights the growing importance of multilingual proficiency in today’s competitive job market.
“This focus aligns with industry needs for effective communication and cross-cultural competence key skills for the future workforce,” it said.
The event also featured a motivational sharing session by SCORE staff on stress and time management, encouraging students to stay focused, build resilience, and pursue continuous self-improvement for their personal and academic growth.
Through the SCORE Bursary Programme, SCORE continues to demonstrate its dedication to empowering education and uplifting the community.
“By supporting eligible students, the organisation contributes to developing a skilled, knowledgeable, and future-ready workforce playing a vital role in Sarawak’s sustainable growth and economic progress,” it said.
