KUCHING: A total of 49 scout commissioners from across Sarawak reaffirmed their collective commitment to the Chief Scout Commissioner during an appointment certificate presentation ceremony held at the Sarawak Scout headquarters on Saturday (April 26).
The event also witnessed the official appointment of new commissioners to various leadership roles within the movement.
Among the guests present were Capt. Zainuddin Tan Sri Hamdan, who was recently appointed as Honorary Commissioner, Sarawak Scout Council Honorary Secretary Zasran Abdullah, as well as several members of the Sarawak Scout Council.
In his keynote address, Chief Scout Commissioner John Lim Boon Beng expressed his gratitude to the Sarawak Scout Council for entrusting him with the leadership role, pledging to steer the movement to greater heights.
“I am honoured and grateful for the trust placed in me to lead this noble and uniformed movement.
“While I may lead, the true success of this leadership depends on the full commitment of every commissioner, scouter, and scout.
“Together, we will continue to embrace inclusivity in our programmes and leadership structure,” he said.
His address received overwhelming support from those present, highlighting the unity and shared vision within the scouting community.
The ceremony culminated with the presentation of appointment certificates to the newly appointed commissioners, each pledging to uphold the mission and values of the scouting movement under Lim’s leadership.
