KUCHING: Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) has launched a new website and forged a partnership with Politeknik Kuching Sarawak to advance digital heritage preservation and talent development.
Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr Abdul Aziz Husain said Sarawak’s heritage must not only be preserved but also presented and promoted through more interactive platforms to remain relevant in the digital era.
He said the initiative would help ensure the state’s cultural heritage remains relevant to younger generations while gaining greater international recognition.
“I believe this initiative will expand access to Sarawak’s rich cultural heritage while strengthening its position as a premier cultural tourism destination,” he said when officiating the closing ceremony of the 2026 POLYCC Icon Siarawan Programme and the launching of the SCV website here today (July 22).
Abdul Aziz also witnessed the exchange of a Letter of Intent (LOI) between SCV and Politeknik Kuching Sarawak.
The LOI was exchanged between SCV chief executive officer (CEO) Jane Liang Labang and Politeknik Kuching Sarawak director Mohamad Nazri Ismail.
The collaboration is expected to create more opportunities in talent development, industrial training, creative content development, digital innovation and the preservation of Sarawak’s cultural heritage through closer cooperation between academia and industry.
Abdul Aziz welcomed the collaboration, expressing confidence that it would pave the way for high-impact initiatives in talent development, industrial training, applied research, digital innovation and creative content development.
“These efforts will not only benefit students but also contribute to the development of the state and the well-being of the community,” he said.
