KUCHING: The Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU) Siol Kandis branch hall and the Siol Kandis futsal court will be upgraded to enhance community use for cultural and sports activities.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof his service centre would coordinate with the SDNU Siol Kandis branch to initiate discussions and prepare cost estimates for the upgrades.
“But before we can proceed, we must first ensure that the hall’s electrical wiring system is at least of a three-phase standard so that the hall’s air-conditioning upgrade will not be affected by short circuits.
“Second, regarding the roofed futsal court, come up with the design and cost estimate, we will help to ensure that it can be implemented.
“Insyallah, I will assist in making this project a reality,” he said when officiating the 2025 Petra Jaya Parliamentary Level Perdana Kesenian & Kebudayaan Dayak ceremony at SDNU Hall, Siol Kandis here last night (July 12).
Fadillah, who is also Petra Jaya MP, stressed the importance of submitting all necessary information promptly to expedite the implementation process.
Earlier Fadillah highlighted Sarawak’s strength in cultural diversity, describing it as a foundation for unity.
“Despite our different backgrounds and beliefs, Sarawakians continue to show deep respect and high tolerance for one another.
“I believe that with the commitment of community leaders playing their roles, we can strengthen this further and pass it on to our younger generation. That is my hope for all of us this year,” he said.
