BANGKOK: Malaysia were never in danger in the mixed jumbo doubles squash final.
Harith Danial Jefri and Sehveetrraa Kumar cruised to gold with an emphatic straight-games win over the Philippines at Vajiravudh College today.
The Malaysian pair dominated proceedings from the outset, taking the opening game 11-5 after racing into an early lead and keeping their opponents, Jonathan Reyes and Aerra Relano, under constant pressure.
Carrying that momentum into the second game, Harith and Sehveetrraa quickly surged ahead 3-0 and extended their advantage to 6-0, leaving the Philippine pair struggling to settle.
Although the Philippines briefly stemmed the tide, Malaysia maintained full control to close out the match 11-2 and seal the gold medal in convincing fashion.
Harith, will play in the men’s jumbo doubles next at 3:30 pm (Thai time) and pair with Wa Sern Low.
