KUCHING: Stadium Perpaduan here reverberated with resounding cheer as two legendary Malaysian rock bands, SEARCH and XPDC, came together for a high-energy Konsert Fenomena Samurai, here Saturday last night (Dec13).
From as early as afternoon, the area surrounding the stadium was already filled with fans from various age groups, many dressed in rock-inspired outfits including T-shirts, jackets and accessories.
The vibrant scene reflected the excitement and anticipation for a concert that brought together two iconic names from the golden era of local rock music.
“The overwhelming response from fans gave the concert special meaning,” said the organiser Iqhram Zainuddin, popularly known as Atom.
“The near-capacity crowd and the enthusiasm shown throughout the night clearly demonstrated that classic rock music continues to hold a special place in the hearts of fans, despite the entertainment landscape evolving with new genres and trends,”he said during a post-concert press conference.
The concert opened with a performance by XPDC, comprising Izo, Lola, Eddie, Arif and Mamu, who delivered a series of iconic songs that brought back fond memories for many in the audience.



Loud cheers and mass sing-alongs accompanied every performance, creating an atmosphere filled with nostalgia and shared enthusiasm among fans.
One of the most memorable moments of the night came when legendary vocalist Ali XPDC made a surprise appearance on stage.
His unexpected presence sparked thunderous applause and emotional reactions from the crowd, many of whom did not anticipate seeing him perform that evening.
The momentum continued with a performance by SEARCH, led by Din and Kid with Pasha on vocals, presenting a selection of timeless hits.
Their performance highlighted the enduring strength of their rock repertoire, which remains relevant and capable of connecting long-time fans with a new generation of listeners.
The concert experience was further enhanced by well-executed stage arrangements and dramatic lighting effects, adding intensity and impact to each performance.
Many audience members were seen rooted in their spot throughout the show, with some standing for most of the concert to fully immerse themselves in the music.
