MIRI: The new Malaysia Red Crescent (MRC) Miri chapter’s second dialysis centre in Permyjaya which could accommodate a maximum 40 (haemodialysis machines) inaugurated its operation yesterday.
Minister for Transport Sarawak Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin cum Senadin assemblyman said the establishment of the centre would benefit those residing in the northern part of the city.
“Today, we are moving 66 patients from our old centre in the city centre to this new building,” he said after conducting a visit to the newly operational centre.
Currently the centre has a total of 12 haemodialysis machines.
Lee also thanked the state government and other corporate organisations such as PETRONAS, Shell, non-governmental organisations and individuals for their generous contributions in the construction of the centre.
Starting in 2019, the building of the centre was completed in March 2021 with estimated total cost of RM5.43 million.
