Second round of Asajaya Unity Cup kicks off with five matches

ASAJAYA: The second round of the 58th edition of the Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah Asajaya Unity Cup Football Tournament kicks off tomorrow, Friday (March 27).

Tournament chairman, Jalek Jaafar, said a total of 10 teams will be in action, with five matches scheduled throughout the day.

Two matches will take place in the morning, with S GYM facing PAMA FC ‘B’ (9.15 am) and Tambirat Legacy taking on Kamela FC (10.30 am).

Meanwhile, three matches are set for the afternoon. Akademi Tambirat U16 will meet Mix GB (1.45 pm), Kaslo FC will play against Sansar FC (3 pm), and Latif FC will face RIZ FC (4.15 pm).

“Tomorrow marks the start of the second round. Five matches are scheduled, and we expect intense contests,” Jalek said when contacted.

He added that all teams will be aiming for victory to secure qualification for the next stage.

“All teams are made up of skilled and experienced players. As such, we can expect a different level of performance from each team throughout the day,” he said.

Kaslo FC also progresses to the next round.

Additionally, the final five matches of the first round concluded today, with the favoured teams emerging victorious.

RIZ FC secured their place in the second round after edging Kasema FC 1, 1-0.

Kaslo FC claimed a narrow 2-1 win over SNB FC, while Kuak FC thrashed Team MUD 7-0, followed by a comfortable 3-0 victory over Dayyan FC.

Tambirat Legasi JR also advanced after defeating KBSB JR 4-2 on penalties, following a 1-1 draw at the end of full time.
