SEGO Pickleball Tournament concludes with exciting matches

KUCHING: The 2025 SEGO Pickleball Tournament brought fierce competition to the courts, with 24 teams battling in the Men’s Doubles category and 12 teams in the Women’s Doubles category.

In the Men’s Doubles, Irwan Hardy and Zarul emerged as champions, displaying impressive teamwork to clinch the title.

The runner-up position went to Afiq Aziz and Aiman Fitri, while Nazrul Hayat Ahmad and Alwi Abd Rahim secured third place. Ikhmal and Ezzat Zaidan rounded out the top four in fourth place.

On the Women’s Doubles side, Umratul Hanee Ahmad and Nong Amanda Aliff claimed the championship in a thrilling final.

Runner-up honours went to Azilawati Sepawi and Fila, while Aziza Affandi and Zana finished in third place. Awieyn and Mina secured fourth place.

The closing and prize presentation ceremony was officiated by Nazrul Hayat, president of the SEGO Friends Charity, who congratulated the winners and participants for their sportsmanship and enthusiasm throughout the event.

In addition to the competition, the SEGO Charity Association made a heartfelt donation of a wheelchair to the father of Khairil Azrie Jamat, who is currently facing health challenges.

The association expressed hope that this contribution would provide some relief during this difficult time.

Held at the MUSCS Pickleball Arena on February 20-21, the tournament was made possible through the support of sponsors, including DAL Keluarga Realty Sdn Bhd, Borneo Masstrans Sdn Bhd, I Cafe, Printing Genius, Porth Bullion, and Perfetto PhotoBooth.

SEGO (Sports Enthusiasts and Gamer Organization) Friends Charity is a charitable organisation that unites sports and e-sports enthusiasts here, with over 200 active members dedicated to supporting various community initiatives.

This tournament proved to be a smashing success, showcasing the spirit of competition, community, and charitable giving.
