IPOH: The outcome of the Semenyih state by-election is the message of the people to the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government which must be aptly considered especially on the cost of living, said Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Dr Lee Boon Chye.
He said the triumph of Barisan Nasional (BN) at the by-election was not because the people liked BN and Umno but it was a clear message from the people to the government which must be considered.
“The result of the Semenyih by-election yesterday was the clear decision of the people and we must respect it. I feel the issue of the cost of living is what the people stressed on,’’ he told reporters after launching the Malaysia Hearing Day celebration at a shopping complex here yesterday.
According to Dr Lee, PH must take heed of the defeat by drawing up a better strategy and empowering the party machinery.
“I am confident victory at the Rantau state by-election will be with PH when all these are available,’’ he said. –Bernama
