DARO: Daro assemblyman Dr Safiee Ahmad said the state government has allocated RM1.4 million specifically to strengthen the early childhood education in Sarawak, in its aspiration to achieve a developed and high-income status by 2030.
“There is no reason for parents not to send their children to school because the government has provided sufficient assistance.
“Education is the key to transforming lives,” he said at the Igan KEMAS Tabika and Taska Children’s Appreciation Day at the Daro Community Hall on Monday (Dec 8).
He said the RM12.96 billion Sarawak Budget 2025 included RM7.3 billion dedicated to rural development, covering educational infrastructure.
As an additional support for early childhood facilities in Igan, Safiee announced several new allocations — RM130,000 for the construction of a new KEMAS preschool building, RM500,000 for the new KEMAS Penasu preschool, and RM83,000 for improvement works for all KEMAS preschools in the Daro area.
