SERIAN: A 74-year-old motorcyclist’s sudden decision to change lanes along KM14, Jalan Serian-Kuching, resulted in his death yesterday (Feb 25).
Serian OCPD DSP Aswandy Anis said the accident happened around 5pm near the junction of Kampung Tian.
It is believed that the male victim suddenly changed lanes and a car driven by a 39-year-old man knocked the left rear part of the motorcycle.
“The impact caused the victim to be thrown off his motorcycle.
“Paramedics confirmed the victim died at the scene,” he said.
The body was taken to Serian Hospital for a post-mortem.
Aswandy said the case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
