KUCHING: A senior citizen was found dead outside a shopping mall here on yesterday night.
Kuching police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the incident was reported to authorities at 10.43 pm by members of the public.
Upon receiving the report, a police team and paramedics were dispatched to the scene and found the victim lying face down and unresponsive.
“According to witnesses, the 63-year-old victim is believed to have fallen from the car park area of the shopping centre.
“He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, and his body was taken to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for a post-mortem,” he said in a press statement today.
The case has been classified as a sudden death.
Mohd Farhan advised the public not to speculate on the incident and urged witnesses or anyone with relevant information to contact the investigating officer, ASP Marshall ak Ajin, at 012-8088195 or visit the nearest police station to assist with investigations.
