LIMBANG: A 64-year-old man was reported missing after his boat was found overturned in Sungai Limbang near Kampung Long Napir here on Thursday (Feb 26).
The victim, identified as Hendry Sian Tama Sian, was believed to have gone to the river at about 9am to repair his boat.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said villagers spotted the boat overturned in the middle of the river at about 4pm and alerted the village head.
A search conducted by villagers between 5.30pm and 7.30pm failed to locate the victim.
Bomba received a report at 12.25am and deployed a team to the scene early today (Feb 27).
The scene is located about five hours away by road, with access through gravel routes.
The victim remains missing as of press time.
