Septuagenarian found safe after going missing for two days

KANOWIT: An elderly man, reported missing after leaving his home to tend to a farm near the Templete Ranan plantation on Friday (Dec 6), has been found safe and sound yesterday (Dec 8).

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that 75-year-old Lai Juing was discovered by rescuers and local villagers at 5.05 pm, about 7km away from his longhouse.

He was later taken to the search and control (SAR) post where he was reunited with his family.

The search and rescue operation was called off at 5.30
pm.

Last Friday, Lai was last seen leaving his home at Rh Adrian Sungai Ranan around 11 am, while wearing a white undershirt, a dark blue outer shirt, and black long pants.

Family members, concerned for his safety, conducted an initial search but were unable to locate him. They later alerted the authorities.
