SERIAN: Sarawak Premier League Southern Zone leaders, Serian, are gearing up to face a true test against their neighbours, Samarahan, in the return-leg clash at the Samarahan Stadium this Saturday (November 22).
Heading into the match unbeaten after eight games, Edward Jamid Unting’s squad are clearly hoping their winning momentum continues – securing another three points to strengthen their dominance.
Team manager, Mohamad Azlan Sebi, stressed that their main focus for the match is simple: to ensure victory.
Azlan said that although they are fully aware of the intense pressure awaiting them throughout the 90 minutes, especially with the home side expected to receive strong backing from their supporters, it will not hinder Serian’s efforts to pursue a positive result – in other words, a win.
“Our mission for this Saturday is just one: to try and secure a victory. It won’t be easy because the home team will be chasing the same outcome,” Azlan told Sarawak Tribune recently.
However, Azlan believes that if his players can deliver their best performance and successfully execute the planned strategies, Serian’s chances of winning will remain wide open.
He described the Serian-Samarahan encounter as a “final-like match” that promises intensity and high-quality action.
Serian remain firmly at the top of the Southern Zone standings with 22 points, having won all eight matches played so far.
