SERIAN: Serian FA assistant coach Rockeffller Sullau believes Samarahan are now a very different side, warning that his team must raise their level ahead of the Sarawak Premier League semi-finals on Saturday (Jan 24).

Despite Serian FA advancing with a convincing 6-1 aggregate victory over Kapit FA in the quarter-finals, Rockeffller admitted that his side’s overall performance, particularly in the first half of the second leg, fell short of expectations.

He said the players may have been affected by their comfortable 3-0 first-leg advantage, which led to a display that did not fully reflect the team’s true quality.

“Even though we won on aggregate, our performance was not at our best. There are many areas we need to improve before the semi-finals,” he said.

Rockeffller described Samarahan as a much-improved outfit compared to earlier in the season, noting changes in personnel and structure that have strengthened the team.

“Samarahan are not the same team anymore. They have quality players, some new additions, and a different approach now. It will be a tough match,” he said.

As the semi-final first leg is to be played at Samarahan Stadium, he stressed that Serian FA must sharpen their attacking play, particularly in terms of finishing, after missing several chances against Kapit.

“We created opportunities, but our finishing needs to be better. That is something we must fix before facing Samarahan,” he added.
