SERIAN: Serian has been selected to host the National Youth Day (HBN) celebrations and the state-level Premier Youth Awards 2025, which will take place from May 16-17 at the Serian Convention Centre.

The programme, organised by the Department of Youth and Sports Sarawak and the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia, will be officiated by Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

Serian Resident Caroline Cleophas Joseph said various parties are actively making detailed preparations following the recent HBN celebration coordinating committee meeting.

This year marks the 61st edition of the HBN celebration, themed ‘Yakin Boleh’, in line with the government’s aspiration to produce a competitive, confident generation of youth ready to face future challenges.

A total of 13 main ‘ports’ will serve as key attractions, featuring activities tailored to the interests and needs of today’s youth.

These include Port Makan-Makan, Port Gaya and Trend, Port Healing, Port Gaming, Port Jana Duit and Port FYP.
