BAU: Participation in this year’s Serikin Track Day neared the 100-rider mark, marking an improvement from the previous edition and highlighting the growing interest in motocross in Sarawak, especially among local riders from Bau.

Organised by Goldtown Motorsport Club in collaboration with Region 1 Motocross, the event was held for the second time at the Serikin Bau Motocross Circuit over the weekend.
“This is the second time we’ve organised the event under Goldtown Motorsport. There’s definitely been an improvement in participation compared to last year.
“We’re close to hitting 100 riders this time,” said Clement Ho, a member of the technical crew.
Clement told Sarawak Tribune that this year’s participants came from across Sarawak, including Lundu, Miri, Sibu, Bintulu, Serian and Sarikei.
However, most of the riders were proudly from Bau – a reflection of the event’s grassroots focus.

“We do collaborate with Region 1 Motocross, which includes riders from Kuching as well, but our main focus is on riders from Bau,” he explained.
He praised the strong local response and community involvement, noting that the event continues to build momentum, thanks to the dedication of organisers and the support of Tasik Biru Assemblyman, Datuk Henry Harry Jinep.
The two-day event, held today and tomorrow (Sunday, July 20), featured several categories, including CKD Open, MX 120/250 F, MX Veteran (40), MX Veteran (50), and MX Open.
