KUCHING: Sarawak Energy, through its operations and retail arm Syarikat Sesco Sdn Bhd (SESCO), is undertaking relocation works for a tilted monopole along the 132kV Oya-Salim transmission line to ensure continued power reliability.
In a statement, the company said the monopole, located along Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce, was observed to be tilted during a recent inspection, likely due to third-party clearing and earthworks that compromised its foundation.
To prevent risks to the transmission system, Sarawak Energy has scheduled relocation works, in two phases, beginning with piling works for a new foundation from Feb 10 to 19, followed by the monopole relocation and conductor transfer from March 4 to 7, subject to weather conditions.
The company has assured the public that there will be no scheduled shutdowns during the process and contingency plans are in place to minimise potential disruptions.
Sarawak Energy appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation as it carries out this critical relocation work to maintain a stable and reliable electricity supply.
