KUCHING: Seven foreign women suspected of engaging in prostitution were arrested during an ‘Ops Noda’ raid at a massage centre along Jalan Tun Jugah here yesterday (Friday, July 3).
Kuching Police Chief, ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, said initial investigations found that the massage centre was believed to have been offering prostitution services involving foreign women for RM200 per service.
He said the raid was carried out at about 2:15 pm by officers from the district Criminal Investigation Department’s D7 branch.
“The suspects, aged between 23 and 38, were detained to assist investigations. Police also seized cash, condoms and clothing during the raid,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 372B of the Penal Code.
Several of the suspects are also being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for allegedly failing to produce valid travel documents or passes.
Alexson said police would continue carrying out operations to curb immoral and illegal activities to maintain public order and safety.
