Seven men detained in Kampung Serikin drug raids

BAU: Seven men aged between 22 and 39 years old were detained in a series of raids around Kampung Serikin here early this morning (Feb 19) for suspected drug-related offences.

Bau District Police chief, P/Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman, said the operations were carried out by personnel from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division together with officers from the Bau Police Headquarters (IPD) between 5.45 am and 6.30 am.

He said one of the suspects was arrested under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for allegedly possessing a red and silver tin basket containing five Erimin 5 pills and a transparent plastic packet with crystalline substances suspected to be ‘syabu’.

“Preliminary urine screening tests conducted on all seven suspects returned positive for drugs. They were detained under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” Haide said in a statement.

He stressed that the police would take firm action against any involvement in drug abuse.
