PADAWAN: RM1.23 million has been spent on seven Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects that were completed from 2016 to 2025 in Kampung Abang and Pangkalan Ampat, enhancing public facilities for residents.
The upgrades were officially launched during a community dinner at Kampung Abang’s multipurpose hall on Saturday, with Deputy Minister for Transport Sarawak (Aviation and Road) and Mambong assemblyman Datuk Dr Jerip Susil officiating.
Dr Jerip thanked the community for their cooperation, noting that disciplined project implementation helps prevent delays and ensures quality rural development.
He also highlighted ongoing works in Annah Biya, Sapit and Kiding, pointing to growing connectivity and tourism potential under the Sarawak Delta Geopark initiative.
At the event, he announced a RM40,000 Minor Rural Project grant for Kampung Abang’s Village Development and Security Committee to support annual activities.

The newly upgraded facilities include the multipurpose hall, parking area, suspension bridge, village gateway and pedestrian walkway.
The evening also recognised academic excellence, with six outstanding students receiving achievement incentives.
