KUCHING: Seven Malaysian social entrepreneurs will represent the nation at the Social Enterprise World Forum (SEWF) 2025 in Taipei, Taiwan, from Oct 27 to 31.

The participation, spearheaded by Institut Keusahawanan Negara Berhad (INSKEN), an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), reflects the country’s strong commitment to advancing sustainable and inclusive entrepreneurship.

INSKEN, which plays a key role in developing and strengthening Malaysia’s social entrepreneurship ecosystem, provides structured training programmes and supports certification and accreditation for social enterprises.

As of September 2025, the agency has helped 498 entrepreneurs obtain social enterprise accreditation, in line with the nation’s goal to nurture businesses that create both economic and social impact.

According to INSKEN chief executive officer Viviantie Sarjuni, INSKEN’s sponsorship of the seven social entrepreneurs for SEWF 2025 provides a valuable opportunity for Malaysia’s delegates to network, learn, and showcase their business models on the international stage.

She also expressed hope that INSKEN will continue to empower more agencies and state-level entities to advance the social entrepreneurship agenda even if there are changes at the federal level.

The seven enterprises selected under INSKEN’s initiative are Drop & Wash Sdn Bhd, Ibupreneur, Jom Makcik Sdn Bhd, Koperasi Kongsi Selangor Berhad, Opah Delitaste Enterprise, Borneo Fertilyst, and Arus Academy Sdn Bhd.

Each was chosen for its innovative business model, growth potential, and commitment to inclusive socio-economic progress.

Malaysia’s delegation to SEWF 2025 will also include KUSKOP deputy secretary-general (Policy and Monitoring) Rahman Mohd Din and INSKEN Board of Trustees chairman Datuk Mustaffa Kamil Ayub.

Hosted by the Social Enterprise World Forum in collaboration with Impact Hub Taipei, SEWF 2025 is the world’s leading platform for social entrepreneurs, innovators, and impact leaders.

With the theme “Collective Action for People and Planet,” the event is expected to draw thousands of delegates from more than 50 countries.

In conjunction with SEWF 2025, INSKEN will further its commitment to social enterprise development by partnering with the Sabah Creative Economy and Innovation Centre (SCENIC) for the Rural Social Enterprise Gathering in Sabah, scheduled from Nov 1 to 3.
