SERIAN: Seven villages in the Tebedu constituency have been allocated a total of RM800,000 under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) initiatives this year.
Tebedu assemblyman, Dr Simon Sinang Bada said that RM420,000 had been granted for new projects and the balance of RM380,000 had been paid to contractors for completed works done over the past six months.
Out of the seven locations, three villages will be receiving new projects while the other four villages have completed theirs.
“These include St Andrew’s Church in Kampung Daha Kisau, community halls in Kampung Kuhum Mawang and Kampung Tubih Mawang, and St Trinitas Kudus Church in Kampung Pichin,” he said when officiating at a symbolic handover ceremony yesterday.
According to the Serian Public Works Department (PWD), contractors were scheduled to begin work starting next Monday, with Serian PWD overseeing implementation and monitoring.
For the record, RTP initiatives in Tebedu are given an allocation of RM5 million annually.
