KUCHING: A 69-year-old man was found dead inside a locked car along Jalan Batu Kawa, Moyan-Malihah here today (Feb 7).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received a distress call at about 12.16 pm after the man was found unconscious inside a Perodua Axia, with the vehicle locked from the inside and the engine still running.
Firefighters from the Petra Jaya station forced open the vehicle using special equipment to access the victim.
Medical personnel later confirmed the man had died at the scene.
The victim was identified as Bong Teck Onn, a Chinese male.
The case was subsequently handed over to police for further action.
No foul play was immediately reported.
