KUCHING: Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) has set a high benchmark for tourism quality ahead of Visit Malaysia Year 2026, after receiving the Malaysia Tourism Quality Assurance (MyTQA) Silver Award for Wind Cave and Fairy Cave in Bau.
The award was presented during a ceremony organised by the Sarawak Office of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) at its headquarters here.
MOTAC Sarawak Director, Debbie Jenggut Nyelang, officiated at the event and emphasised the importance of quality tourism offerings in enhancing Malaysia’s global reputation.
“We hope that recognitions such as the MyTQA will inspire more tourism players to raise their standards as we prepare to welcome the world for Visit Malaysia Year 2026,” she said.
Representing SFC at the ceremony were Shirley Lyn Michael Gais, Head of Eco-Tourism and Business Development; Alfonso Mckenzie Simon, Regional Manager Kuching; and Laing Lesley Ului, Park Warden for Wind Cave and Fairy Cave, who accepted the award on behalf of the team.
The recognition not only affirms SFC’s dedication to eco-tourism excellence but also underscores Sarawak’s rich natural heritage as a key attraction within Malaysia’s tourism landscape.
