KUCHING: The public are invited to participate in the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) Open Day on October 18, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The event, themed ‘My Hospital, My Community (Hospitalku, Komunitiku)’, aims to raise public awareness on health issues while strengthening the hospital’s relationship with the surrounding community.
It also aims to provide visitors with a better understanding of the services offered by SGH, and promote health education through direct interaction between medical professionals and the public.
The event will feature a range of interactive activities designed to engage visitors of all ages.
Among the highlights are free basic health screenings, which allow members of the public to check their blood pressure, glucose levels, and body mass index (BMI).
A blood donation drive will also be conducted to encourage voluntary blood donors, and ensure sufficient supply for the hospital’s emergency and medical needs.
Additionally, the event will feature several health exhibitions and information booths that focus on healthy lifestyle practices and disease prevention.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore a display of medical vehicles, and learn about the equipment used in emergency response and mobile healthcare services.
According to the organising committee’s statement, the SGH Open Day reflects the hospital’s ongoing commitment to community outreach and health promotion.
“This initiative is part of our efforts to bring health awareness closer to the people.
“Your support and presence will inspire us to continue strengthening the delivery of quality healthcare services for everyone,” the statement read.
