EXECUTIVE Director and Chairman of the Management Board of the Governance Academy, Estonia, Dr Avro Ott (PhD) (right) sharing his country’s experience in digital economy, especially in e-government.

KUCHING: A sharing session on e-government in Estonia, Europe and a clinic on digital economy took place at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here on Monday.

The guest speaker was Executive Director and Chairman of the Management Board of the Governance Academy, Estonia, Dr Avro Ott (PhD).

The objective of the sharing session was to provide an understanding on the e-governance in Estonia, besides benchmarking the best practices of Estonian digital government and helping the Sarawak government to identify the best e-government model.

State Secretary, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Morshidi bin Abdul Ghani, in his opening remarks, said that Sarawak was looking forward to collaborating with the Estonian government in many areas vital for the transformation of Sarawak into a digital economy.

Also present were State Attorney General, Datuk Talat Mahmood and Deputy State Secretary (Socio Economic Trans format ion) , Datu Haji Ismawi HajiIsmuni, Deputy State Secretary (Rural Trans format ion) , Datu Jaul Samion, Deputy State Secretary (Performance and Service Delivery Transformation), Datu Dr. Sabariah Putit, Permanent Secretaries as well as heads of the departments.
