ASTRO Shaw has made history as “Sheriff: Narko Integriti” became the highest-grossing film of the 2024, surpassing international blockbusters with a total box office revenue of RM60.5 million.

Marvel’s “Deadpool & Wolverine” ranked second with RM32.5 million in earnings within the country.

Reflecting on this extraordinary success, Astro Shaw’s Head, Raja Jastina Raja Arshad, expressed gratitude for the impact their productions have had on audiences, in addition to receiving recognition at prestigious award ceremonies.

“We are deeply committed to delivering compelling stories with high production values, and we aspire to drive change in our film industry.

“Securing a spot in Malaysia’s Top 10 highest-grossing films is a testament to the hard work of our team — both in front of and behind the camera — who have brought this vision to life,” she said.

Besides Sheriff, other Astro Shaw productions also performed impressively at the box office. “Takluk: Lahad Datu” ranked fourth with RM26.9 million, followed by “Kahar: Kapla High Council” at 15th place (RM13.4 million) and “The Experts” in 17th place (RM12.4 million), all securing a spot in the Top 20 highest-grossing films of the year.

Jastina credited this success to collaborations with production partners such as Skop Productions, Infinitus Productions, Act 2 Pictures, Multimedia Entertainment, GSC, TGV, Les’ Copaque, and corporate sponsors.

“We see this as a shared victory. The growing support for local films demonstrates that Malaysian audiences are embracing homegrown cinema more than ever.

“We are proud of our achievements so far and will continue striving to elevate Malaysia’s film industry to greater heights,” she said.
