MIRI: A double-storey shoplot was partially destroyed in an early morning fire at Eastwood Valley Industrial Estate today.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
A team of firemen from Lopeng fire station was rushed to the scene upon receiving a distressed call at 7.40 am.
Upon their arrival, they found that the shoplot had caught fire.
Miri Fire and Rescue Department in a report said the fire involved the shoplot’s main switch and had spread destroying several items which were mainly cleaning products and garbage bins of the unit.
Firemen carried out extinguishing operations to prevent the fire from spreading to other nearby shops located there.
The department is investigating the cause of the fire and the losses incurred.
