Sibu MP’s Mobile Service Counter to assist public at Permai Garden on Aug 27

SIBU: The Service Centre of Sibu MP Oscar Ling Chai Yew will set up a Mobile Service Counter on Wednesday (Aug 27) at Bao Sheng Trading Company (opposite Permai Farmers Market) in Permai Garden, Jalan Oya here to provide four types of services to the public.

Ling’s special assistant, Irene Wong, said the mobile service counter will operate from 9am to 11.30am. Services offered include MyKasih Merchant Registration, STR (Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah), SCHB (Senior Citizen Health Benefit), and KGC (Kenyalang Gold Card).

She explained that mini-markets and grocery shops that sell at least 70 per cent of the 14 essential items are eligible to register, that encompass rice, beverages, bread, eggs, condiments, toiletries, medicines, instant noodles, biscuits, flour, stationery, canned food, cooking oil, and household cleaning products.

Registered merchants will receive a government-provided Point of Sale (POS) system and barcode scanner, she said, adding, low-income households under the SARA assistance scheme can use their MyKad to purchase selected essential goods at MyKasih partner shops.

On STR, she said, the scheme is eligible for those household income below RM5,000, and single individuals below RM2,500.

She said application will require applicant’s identity card (IC); if married, copy of spouse’s IC and marriage certificate; children’s IC copy (if still dependents; not required if already working); bank account number; and beneficiary’s IC copy.

Adding on, she said, senior citizen aged 60 and above, with “K” in their IC, and household income below RM7,000 per month is eligible to apply for SCHB.

To apply for KGC, Wong said, the applicants need to be senior citizens aged 60 and above, with “K” in their IC, and each copy of applicant’s IC and beneficiary’s IC.

Wong reminded all applicants to bring along the required documents to ensure smooth processing.

“Incomplete submissions will require applicants to wait for the next mobile counter or visit the DAP Sibu Service Centre at Rejang Park Commericial centre.”
