SIBU: The Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) Sibu Branch recently received a donation from The Malaysian Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) aimed at enhancing their emergency response capabilities and community safety.

According to a press release on Monday (Feb 26), the donation included various First Aid Training Materials to assist the association in their daily task.

Sibu MRCS chairman Chua Hiong Kee expressed gratitude for the donation, stating that it marks a significant step forward in their commitment to community safety.

“The AEDs, coupled with First Aid Training Materials, will equip MRCS and community members with the necessary skills and resources to respond effectively to emergencies.

“The donation not only enhances MRCS’s ability to provide immediate assistance during emergencies but also empowers individuals within the community to be proactive in addressing health crises.

“The AEDs are portable devices capable of delivering life-saving shocks to individuals experiencing sudden cardiac arrest, significantly increasing their chances of survival.”

The First Aid Training Materials will enable MRCS to conduct comprehensive training sessions, equipping participants with essential knowledge and skills in administering first aid.

Sibu MRCS is dedicated to teaching life-saving skills such as CPR and basic first aid through various training programmes and workshops.

This aligns with the training programme by the Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF), which supports the claim of the course.

For more information on these life-saving courses, Sibu MRCS encourages the public to contact them at 084-337066 or 016-3047066 (WhatsApp) during office hours.
