Sibu MRCS provides clothing assistance to 81 fire victims

SIBU: Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) Sibu Branch on Monday (Sept 29) distributed a total of 20 bags of used clothing to 81 fire victims whose longhouse in Song District was gutted by fire recently.

A team of five members from the Sibu MRCS Disaster Operation Committee, led by chairman Penghulu Chua Hiong Kee, carried out a visit to the temporary transfer centre (PPS) for the fire victims at Balai Raya Song.

The donation consisted of 14 bags of women’s clothing, four bags of men’s clothing and two bags of children’s clothing.

“We also visited the site of Rumah Austin Ekau, Sipan, Song (Jalan Penghulu Jugah), which was among the longhouses affected by the fire recently,” Chua stated.
