SIBU: Lions leaders from various countries have arrived to attend the prestigious 2025 Asean Lions Leaders Summit (ALLS) which will run from Feb 20 to 22, at a prominent hotel here.
Among the countries are China, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philipines, Taiwan, Sri Lanka and Brunei.
Notable leaders include International director Zhao Dong from Shenyang, China; past International director Huang Chang Wei from Guangdong, China; Council chairperson Sompob Pichaiwong from Multiple District 310, Thailand; District Govenor General Jagath Weerasinghe from District 306D8, Sri Lanka; District Govenor Sammy Shun from District 303, Hong Kong & Macau as well as International director Datuk Yeoh Wah Chin from Kuala Lumpur.
Lions Club of Sibu Pahlawan (LCSP), the event ‘s host in a statement on Thursday (Feb 20), said their arrival not only adds prestige to this grand event but also highlights the strong international bonds and friendship within the Lions community.
A host of Sibu Lions members gathered early at the airport, holding welcome banners, greeted the distinguished guests with warm smiles.
As the Lions leaders stepped out of the airport, they were met with enthusiastic applause and heartfelt greetings.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement and camaraderie as members shook hands and exchanged warm pleasantries.
Many Lions took the opportunity to capture this historic moment with photographs alongside international leaders.
“This summit brings together some of the most influential Lions leaders in the Asean region to discuss strategies for enhancing Lions service efficiency and to share successful experiences in charitable initiatives across different countries.
“More than just a leadership gathering, this event serves as a platform for fostering international cooperation and advancing global humanitarian efforts,” the statement added.
