KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Sarawak Implementation Monitoring Unit (SIMU) has inspected the venue for the Samarahan Division-level Sarawakku Sayang (SKS) Programme 2026 to ensure preparations are on track ahead of the event from Oct 30 to Nov 1.
SIMU director Sapiah Daud conducted a working visit to the programme site at Halaman Samarahan, near the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) premises, today (Aug 11).
The visit focused on assessing the condition and readiness of the venue, as well as preparations by the agencies and committees involved in organising the programme.
Sapiah said the early inspection was important to ensure that the programme’s technical and logistical requirements, as well as its activities, could be properly arranged before the event.
She also stressed the importance of continued cooperation and coordination among all participating agencies and committees to ensure every task was completed according to plan and within the stipulated timeframe.
Following the site inspection, Sapiah chaired a coordination meeting with the agencies and committees involved to discuss preparations for the programme.
The three-day event is expected to feature government agency exhibitions, service counters, an e-contest lucky draw, kitchen and sales booths, a community concert, Sarawak Cultural Night, as well as various competitions and sporting activities.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to officiate at the programme on Oct 31.
The programme will also serve as a platform to bring government services closer to the people and strengthen ties between the government and the local community.
