Sinar Mekar, Maybank partner to ease home financing for Gustina Residence

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Sinar Mekar, the developer of Gustina Residence, today announced a collaboration with Maybank to offer two of the bank’s home financing solutions—Maybank MyDeco Financing and Maybank Green Home Financing—to prospective buyers of the development.

This collaboration between Sinar Mekar and Maybank reflects a shared commitment to sustainable lifestyle choices, empowering buyers to move from purchase to a move-in-ready home with greater ease and confidence.

Positioned alongside the Kuching–Samarahan Expressway, Gustina Residence sits along a principal route into Samarahan, offering strong visibility within a rapidly expanding residential catchment supported by nearby institutions and amenities, including the Sarawak Heart Centre, UNIMAS, and UiTM.

AJ Alexander Wong, Director of Operations Management at Sinar Mekar, said: “We are seeing strong momentum in Samarahan, with both industry players and the government investing heavily in the area. With Maybank MyDeco Financing, homeownership is simplified by integrating property financing with additional financing for interior completion works, including interior design, furnishing, fittings, aesthetics, and decoration—enabling buyers to enjoy their new home without the hassle of managing post-purchase interior works.

Under the scheme, eligible buyers may access up to 120% total financing, combining the property purchase with an additional margin of up to 30% (capped at RM250,000, whichever is lower) specifically for interior works. The facility is available as a conventional loan or Islamic financing.

Gustina Residence is also a GreenRE-certified development, supporting broader sustainability goals under Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030), which emphasises green and future-ready growth.

This certification also means Gustina Residence is eligible for Maybank Green Home Financing, a sustainability-focused home financing solution for green-certified properties. This solution offers preferential rates, as well as a financing margin of up to 95% + 5%, covering 95% of the property purchase price, with an additional 5% for credit insurance and takaful, legal fees, valuation, and stamp duty—encouraging buyers to adopt greener, more sustainable choices.
