SINGAPORE: The Singapore Government today unveiled a second support package worth SGD900 million (SGD1=RM3.17) to help its citizens navigate the impact of the ongoing West Asia conflicts and global uncertainties.
The latest round of support to Singaporean households includes SGD300 Community Development Council (CDC) vouchers, which will be disbursed in January 2027.
The government is also introducing enhanced U-Save rebates of up to SGD190 and monthly payouts for ComCare Interim Assistance of at least SGD250 per month for up to three months.
For small and medium businesses (SMEs), the government is offering a one-off SME Cash Grant 2026 and rental support for small businesses in government-managed hawker centres.
The government is also set to enhance the Enterprise Financing Scheme (EFS) from September 2026 to March 2027 to provide local enterprises with better access to financing.
Second Finance Minister, Jeffrey Siow, said the additional support package has raised the government’s total support to SGD2 billion to date, including the SGD1-billion assistance package announced in April and measures introduced under Budget 2026.
“We believe this is the right response given the economic conditions today. At the same time, we recognise that the global situation remains highly fluid.
“The government is also in close contact and close touch with trade associations, businesses, unions, workers, grassroots leaders, and residents, and is receiving regular feedback on the ground,” he said in a press conference today. – BERNAMA
