KUCHING: Singapore’s Minister for Energy, Science and Technology Dr Tan See Leng has become the first international guest to visit the Sarawak Premier at his new office in Kompleks Satria Pertiwi today (Aug 5).
Dr Tan led a delegation from the Government of the Republic of Singapore on a courtesy call to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
The visit was the first official engagement at the Premier’s Office Complex in Petra Jaya, which was inaugurated last night.
At the meeting, it was learnt that discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring cooperation in energy, science and technology.
For the record, construction of the complex began in January 2023 to provide a secure, efficient and technologically advanced administrative centre for Sarawak’s top leadership.
Dubbed “Sarawak’s White House”, it comprises a three-storey main building, two auxiliary blocks and a government data centre, integrating modern security systems with digital infrastructure.
Located on elevated ground near the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex, the facility is set to serve as the central hub of Sarawak’s government operations.
