KUALA LUMPUR: The song ‘Anta Permana’, made famous by Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, has made its way onto the favourite tunes playlist of King Charles III.
The playlist was featured as part of The King’s Music Room, a special programme on Apple Music 1, which was revealed to mark the celebrations of Commonwealth Day yesterday (March 10).
This curated playlist of King Charles III’s top tracks showcased a global mix of music.
“Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me. I know that is also the case for so many others.
“It has that remarkable ability to bring happy memories flooding back from the deepest recesses of our memory, to comfort us in times of sadness, and to take us to distant places.
“But perhaps, above all, it can lift our spirits to such a degree, and all the more so when it brings us together in celebration. In other words, it brings us joy,” the King was quoted as saying.
The 17 songs in the playlist, which runs for one hour and ten minutes, also feature global icons like pop legend Diana Ross, reggae pioneer Bob Marley, enduring singer Grace Jones, and up-and-coming British artist Raye.
The playlist also includes tracks from Beyoncé, Kylie Minogue, and Michael Bublé, and was shared exclusively on the British royal family’s social media channels.
