BINTULU: A six-acre secondary forest fire involving acacia trees at a plantation here was brought under control today (Mar 27).

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received a distress call at about 8.59 am and deployed a team from the Bintulu station, which travelled about 120 kilometres to the location.
Firefighters arrived at 12.27 pm and used water sprayers to extinguish the blaze.
No casualties were reported.
Bomba said the team also conducted monitoring in the affected area to ensure there were no signs of reignition before concluding the operation at about 2 pm.
