KUCHING: AZAM Sarawak will send six representatives of AZAM Youth Superheroes (AYS) to compete at the Toastmasters 15th Annual Conference 2025, in Bandung, Indonesia.

All six delegates are active members of the AYS Speaker Club, an initiative under AZAM Sarawak that champions public speaking excellence in both Bahasa Melayu and English.

Each participant has successfully completed at least Level 1 of the Toastmasters International Pathway, fulfilling the minimum requirement to compete in the official categories of the conference.

Prior to this, they underwent rigorous screening and selection rounds here.

“This initiative reflects AZAM’s continuous commitment to placing Sarawak youth on international platforms,” said AZAM Sarawak’s Chief Executive Officer, Ali Suhaili.

“Toastmasters provides more than just competition – it builds real confidence, communication skills, and leadership values while allowing youth to connect across cultures.”

AYS President, Theron Then Kai Yuan, shared his thoughts on the impact of this opportunity.

“The Bandung Conference is a major opportunity for us because we get to connect with official speakers from an international level.

“This is where young people can learn how others express themselves confidently on stage, how they carry themselves with grace and clarity.

“We don’t want to remain in our own bubble, speaking only among ourselves in Sarawak; we want to grow by engaging with the world,” he said.
